Thesis is the most important part of your final year academic research. It is not only the name of giving all your research a final shape but also determines what final shape your grades take Mostly schools have a big portion of percentage assessment based on your thesis. So, everyone certainly knows that thesis formulation cannot be a thing to be compromised on. The most effective thesis structure consists of a number of components, each component holding a different weightage of importance. A single mistake could lead to the destruction of the whole research conducted on the topic. There are certain headings and each heading carries a different writing style. Being a professional student, you should know well how to compose each heading, but if you don’t, you have come to the right place! This article will help you know the basics of thesis structuring.
The Starter pack
No doubt, you only start writing your thesis once you have completed all the research work, the values or figures you needed to find, and the analysis you had to do. Once all your practical work is complete, not comes the real task – writing the thesis. When you start writing it, you actually begin to realize that the real work has begun now. No matter how successful you’ve been with the practical work, unless and until you are able to put it into the write words you cannot convey your idea to the reader! Start your thesis with the Abstract and then Acknowledgements. The abstract should contain the main idea of the thesis in a precise way. While writing acknowledgments, you should be openly thanking every person or institute who contributed to your thesis. Your teachers who helped, the institution who let you use their laboratory, any organization who gave you the research grants, and also your teammates, if any, who did the work with you.
Other Contents
Next is the table of contents which determines what your whole thesis is composed of. Make sure to use the page numbers for it and add headings with proper alignment. The introduction should be written after this which consists of all the depths of the information e.g. why you this research was necessary and what is the foundation before you begin writing other details. The introduction is a crucial part and explains the motivation and objectives of the whole research. A critical literature review is the next part that attains a lot of attention of the reader. This is because it tells how much critical understanding you have on the topic and what you think should be the next steps to fill in the gaps of your research if any. Analysis and findings is the middlemost part and must be devoid of errors to compose the most effective thesis.
The Ending
The most effective thesis ends with a fine conclusion and references! You should be able to write a conclusion that covers all the necessary aspects of your thesis and gives the outcome of the whole thing. Reference is a strong basis of how you conducted the research and how you resourced the information so make sure you mention it in a solid and perfect way!
